BEANARA INDYS GRACE
Grace

Grace as she is known, is a black and silver girl, the daughter of our Indy (B Jo March) and Luke (Arbeybuffels Rocket Man). Grace is the newest member of our family, born on 25th September 2008. She has a very loving nature, but after a bad experience as a puppy can now take a while to warm up to strangers, so Grace will not now be entering the show rings.
Her brother Guy, Beanara Indys Guise can be seen on the dogs page.

Beanara Amber Angel
Amber
Amber is our youngest girl to have a docked tail, a daughter of Amy (Beanara Amy March) and Deco (Grovelea Art Deco at Beanara). Amber is our first home bred bitch in the pepper and salt colour. Born 5th January 2007. Amber is a very happy young lady who is very confident and loves people. She has matured into a dark pepper and salt colour. Amber has a strong will but is easily bribed with food, she is very intelligent and has a joy of life. She is also very funny and will pull a face for lots of reasons, the more she sees me laughing at her, the more she does it. She adores nothing better then sitting on my knee and getting a fuss, if the others try to butt in, she just uses her paw to push them away!

Who could resist that cheeky look? In the photo below she is 5 and 1/2 weeks old.
Amber combines the best of European breeding from the black, belgian kennel of vd. Havenstad and the black and silver kennels of Scedir, Chelines and Flequillitos. Being a pepper and salt with this back ground makes her rarther unique in the UK. Typical of the vd Havenstad lines, Amber is a little bit on the tall side and so has not been shown, a shame as she really has a show off temperament and would have loved it!
Below are some more up to date photos of Amber, taken when she was 18 months old.

Beanara Jo March and Beanara Amy March
Indy & Amy
Otherwise known as Indy (on the left) and Amy (on the right), they are litter sisters from Rivas first litter, Indy has partly taken after her sire Jojo whereas Amy is very much a Riva daughter.
Both Indy and Amy eye tested under the BVA/KC eye scheme Feb 2009 - eyes CLEAR
This is Jojo (Flequillitos One-Vision avec Engalah) imported from one of the top miniature kennels in spain by Alberto Alverez (zamoranos), now owned by the Turner family.
Indy has a bit of an independent streak, this doesn't mean that she is naughty, just that she will let you know what she does and doesn't like. She wasn't a fan of big shows of affection until she had her puppies and she now loves to be hugged and she is the quickest to follow Riva up on the sofa next to me, I'll often not even notice she has jumped up until I move. Indy likes to think about things and weigh up a situation first, she is probably the most intelligent dog I have owned and picked up the sendaway just by watching her mum practise it! It seems that her intelligence has been passed on to her puppies - it is a mixed blessing as quick as they are to pick up the good things, they will also pick up on weak leadership and take control of the situation! Indy has passed her Gold Good Citizen Test at obedience. Indy has been shown, she even went to Crufts 2006 and came home with a 4th place and qualified to go again in 2007 where she did even better with a 2nd place! Indy went back into the ring at the end of 2007 and qualified to go to Crufts 2008 where she again won a 2nd place. Indy has now been retired from the show ring and recently had her 2nd and final litter, you can see her kids Beanara Indys Grace and Beanara Indys Guise on this site.

Indy at 14 months

Amy is the clown of the group, she can always bring a smile to my face and is always ready for a cuddle, she often jumps on my knee when I am sat at the computer and loves to give a sneaky 'kiss'. Amy is a bit of a talker and does the 'woo woo' sounds when she is proudly trotting around with one of her favourite toys. She loves her food and she is the one who has to climb into the empty food bags to check if there is any kibble left, she has also worked out how to open the feed bins now! Amy also has her Gold Good Citizen Test. Amy had a couple of 4th places at champ shows as a puppy, just missing out of qualifying for Crufts, sadly her colour has faded (though not as much as her mother) so she can no longer be shown competitively. Amy may soon begin agility training, she can clear the 3'6'' barriers I have in the house without a second thought so it seems she has a wasted talent!
Amy is 'my angel' and has developed a special friendship with Levi, he spends each evening chewing on her ears while she lies on her back. They are like a married couple and do have 2 puppies together (Rex and Owen who are both black and silver boys). Hopefully this mating will be repeated in the future to produce some pepper and salt puppies next time alongside some black and silvers.

Amy checking out the food bag, looks like she found a tasty bit!

Amy at 5 months
Below is the pedigree for the girls, obviously Indy has the same pedigree as Amy. Rivas pedigree is the lower half (which is why I haven't put hers on seperately).

LICHSTONE MIDNIGHT RIVA AT BEANARA
Riva
Riva is my foundation bitch, chosen at least in part because of the stunning looks of her sire Rio (Denbrough Midnight Runner to Lichstone - who has won a CC and Best of Breed at Southern Counties Champ show). Riva is an out going little character who loves to be the centre of attention, she is very nosey and often 'bussels about' finding out what the other dogs are getting up to so she isn't missing out on anything, she is 2nd in command behind the giant (who is top bitch in the house) and is quick to disipline anyone who steps out of line. Riva is the first to sit on my knee in the evening and will just cuddle in to the smallest gap available. She is also super intelligent and can learn things really fast and gets really excited at obedience if she has to wait for her turn, especially if it is for the sendaway exercise. Riva is genetically a black and silver but she has also inherited the fading gene which means that her undercoat has gone from black to a silver grey as you can see in the photos but her top coat still grows in jet back, which just shows that if you want to retain the black (as much as possible) on this colour, you really should strip the dog at all points where they are black.
